Mini Drone p21-5
Where technology begins to move for humans.
Consulteer and Xer Technologies unveil a next-generation reconnaissance system.
Thun, June 18, 2025 – On the military training grounds in Thun, SCOUT 25 brought together leading experts from the military, government, industry, and research. The event showcased cutting-edge technologies designed to improve reconnaissance, protection, and efficiency on tomorrow’s battlefield.
At the center of it all: Consulteer, together with its strategic technology partner Xer Technologies. Their joint demonstration revealed a powerful UAV-based solution that bridges tactical know-how with next-gen drone engineering.
The focal point of the exhibit was the jointly developed mothership drone concept: a modular reconnaissance platform based on Xer’s hybrid X8 drone.
The system enables a multi-layered deployment strategy combining long-range endurance, integrated sensors, real-time data transfer, and miniature drones for close-in observation – all in one cohesive framework.
The live demo drew strong interest from defense and industry experts. The system featured:
X8 mothership drone (Xer Technologies): Hybrid UAV with 2.5-hour endurance and 3 kg payload
ISR sensor (Plot): Locates electromagnetic signals (e.g. radios, phones)
EO/IR camera: Enables precise thermal and optical target acquisition
p21-5 mini drones (Consulteer): Deployed mid-air for detailed scouting in difficult terrain
Built for denied or high-risk zones, the p21-5 flies up to 15 minutes, transmits live video and GPS data, and can operate solo or as part of a coordinated system.
The joint appearance of Consulteer and Xer Technologies was met with enthusiasm. Visitors highlighted:
The real-world applicability of the solution
Its technological maturity and modular design
The synergy between partners with complementary strengths
At the booth, attendees explored not only the hardware but also the operational concepts, integration strategies, and future use cases for autonomous reconnaissance in defense environments.
