Focus. Process. Progress.

Nina Litty at Ironman 70.3: Between design and endurance.

„The Ironman is not about the race. It is about the journey to get there.“ – Chrissie Wellington

1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling, 21.1 km running. The Ironman70.3 in Zell am See is no walk in the park. It’s a true test of endurance. Nina Litty, Interaction Designer at Consulteer, finished it. But her story is about more than athletic achievement – it shows how much triathlon and UX design have in common.

Method over Guesswork.

Nina joined Consulteer in 2019. Her daily design routine? Creating digital experiences that work. She analyzes complex processes, identifies patterns, and develops clear solutions based on her findings. Not gut feeling, but method: user research, prototypes, tests, iterations. Every step brings clarity, every mistake provides feedback.

For her, design is less about looks and more about logic. The goal is to structure systems in such a way that people understand them intuitively. This requires patience, precision, and the willingness to keep looking closely. It's quite similar to training for a triathlon.

The Ironman Mindset.

The Zell am See course is tough: 1.9 km in the lake, 90 km on the bike with 1080 meters of climbing, then a half marathon along the shore. To finish, you need more than speed. You need a strategy. When do you push? When do you hold back? When do you find flow, and when do you fight resistance?

That’s exactly how Nina approaches her design projects. Big challenges can’t be solved in one sprint. They require structure, reflection, and the stamina to keep going even when it gets hard.

Process over Outcome.

“You can’t control outcomes, but process or intent, on the other hand, is where big gains can be made.” – Gwen Jorgensen

This quote could describe Nina’s approach exactly. In both sport and design, outcomes are not always under your control. Requirements change, conditions shift, unexpected challenges appear. What remains is the certainty of a clear process.

In sport, every kilometer adds up until you reach the finish. In design, every iteration adds up until a system finally feels intuitive. For Nina, this is not a coincidence but a principle: success comes not from shortcuts but from structure, testing, and persistence.

Everyday Practice.

Nina experiences every day how her two worlds reinforce each other. Training for an Ironman70.3 builds patience and resilience – exactly the qualities needed to get through long, complex projects.

At the same time, her analytical design mindset supports her sport. Breaking things down, refining step by step, keeping an eye on the process – it works on screen and on the race course alike.

Why it matters.

For Consulteer, Nina’s story is more than a personal highlight. It represents what we value as a company: progress over perfection. Taking responsibility, trusting the process, and pushing forward even when it’s tough.

Conclusion.

In UX design and on the triathlon course, Nina Litty stands for discipline, focus, and the courage to go beyond limits. Her story proves that real strength doesn’t come from being perfect, but from the will to keep moving forward.
